HP’s first computer, the HP 2116A, was introduced in 1966; developed as a versatile instrument controller for HP’s growing family of programmable test and measurement products. Various machines followed in future decades, with the first PC as we know it in 1980.

Interestingly, the first handheld computer dates back to 1982, and Touchscreen technology as far back as 1983 – both pre-cursors for the mobile technology we use today.

HP’s heritage of ground breaking technology and developments has continued through the years; up to the current day – as they celebrate their 70th anniversary – with boundary pushing creations and designs keeping them at the forefront of the PC market.
