Oracle VCA: Turnkey Agility For Your Datacentre

Imagine being able to deploy a new cloud service in an hour. With the Virtual Compute Appliance, you can. It includes everything you need – hardware, software, virtualisation, networking and storage – all preconfigured, pre-integrated and pre-cabled. Plug it in, turn it on, and deploy your innovative new service before lunchtime.

Oracle’s Virtual Compute Appliance is an engineered system that radically simplifies the way customers install, deploy, and manage converged infrastructures for any Linux, Oracle Solaris, or Microsoft Windows application.

It is an integrated, “wire once”, software-defined converged infrastructure system designed for rapid deployment of both infrastructure hardware and application software. Whether running any Linux, Oracle Solaris, or Microsoft Windows, Oracle’s Virtual Compute Appliance supports a large range of OS versions hosted in a converged server, network, and storage environment to enable general purpose, business-, and mission-critical application deployments in medium-to-large data centers.

High-performance, low-latency Oracle Fabric Interconnect with Oracle SDN—two products in the Oracle Virtual Networking family—allow automated configuration of the server and storage networks. The embedded Virtual Compute Appliance controller software automates the installation, configuration, and management of all the infrastructure components at the push of a button. The users need only to enter basic configuration parameters and then create virtual machines (VMs) manually or by leveraging Oracle VM Templates and Assembly Builder to get a full application up and running in as little as a couple of hours. With Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, the Virtual Compute Appliance is transformed into a powerful Cloud Services delivery platform.

Benefits include;

  • Deploy complete VCA systems in minute’s vs days
  • Reduce TCO between 30%-50%
  • Cut CAPEX by up to 50%
  • Deploy applications 7x faster than VMWare
